What to expect "When anyone hears the word of the kingdom...",

Matthew 13;1-23

I have been thinking back upon our men's retreat at Blue Bronna Wilderness Camp and wondering what the first few days back home were like for you. At the camp many of you experienced God speaking to you personally.

What was it like to bring that Word home with you?

Jesus taught his disciples, in this circumstance, what to expect. He said, "When anyone hears the word of the kingdom...",

One of 4 things will surely follow. Either:

1. "the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart". 

2. He "endures for a while" but when we encounter resistance to God's Word to us, we give up.

3. "the cares of the world...choke the word." When you returned home, did your busy schedule leave your Word any room to breathe?

4. We take the Word home with us, seek to understand it, continue to let it ring in our ears, and put it to practice so that it becomes part of us. This person "bears fruit and yields, in one case hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty."

Ask yourself, “Lord, which category did I fall into?”

What category would I like to fall into?

I ask You for that Grace.
